Taiyou Ne Ie

I've been reading this manga lately. It's super cute. I don't know why but I've been so addicted to these kinds of mangas. The genres for this manga are comedy, slice of life, romance, shoujo, and school life. Shoujo is manga with themes that appeal to young girls. This manga is about a girl who is in love with this guy that's older than her. She's unloved by her family and holds in her feelings so people around her won't hurt. The guy is similar to her and she probably understands his feelings better than his siblings. Well that's all, I don't want to spoil anything. Hope you enjoy reading this manga. xd

Peter Pan

So I've been reading "Peter Pan" by J. M. Barrie. It's such a cute book and it's also good. I think it's funny how Wendy's parents were getting crazy over Peter Pan because the mother saw him and he was in the room. Peter pan is classical literature. It's a light book and good for people who don't like to read heavy books. Since this is like a children's book I think most people should read this. Being a child is fun. :P

Maru-Pen

This Maru-Pen nib is really good. Last time I bought a set of nibs and pens for practice they were not good at all. The ink splattered and I was afraid to use more pens like this. I've been searching for this pen for so long since there have been so many good reviews on this. Then last week I finally found it in the Japanese store near my school. I was so excited to try it out. Then today I finally did it and i think the results came out great. I didn't get any ink splatters this time and the ink came out fine. The ink came out so nice i was surprised. I think I will use these pens more. (:

Ballet

Here's a drawing I did for a contest by "Blick Art Supplies". This is one of my drawings. I think i could work better. Do u see the ballerina? I was in French class when i came up with the idea of drawing a ballerina in the middle of the page. It seemed like a really good idea. I saw ballet on the screen so I immediately though to draw of a ballerina and submit it. I hope I win. xP

Chem Lab

Today in my chemistry lab class we did some lab that can change the colors into rainbows. The base colors were red, yellow, and blue. Well it was something like that. I think this was food coloring. But aren't the colors beautiful. It's like a rainbow. It took super long to measure the colors in the small cylinder, but we got through. Didn't it turn out well? hehe. (:

San Genaro

So in Little Italy there's a festival called San Genaro. It's an Italian holiday. This festival is usually on the last two weeks of September. A lot of people go to this and it's super crowded. There are many types of foods and stands there, for example a food stand would probably have grilled meat and funnel cakes. Well there are other things but my memory is kind of bad.

Banana Bread (12 servings)

My friend Emily and I also made banana bread yesterday. This turned out better then i expected. it also tasted really good. It was sweet but not too sweet. We had a harder time finding the ingredients for the ddeokbokki then the banana bread.
Here is the recipe we used:
Ingredients: -2 cups all purpose flour
-1 teaspoon baking soda
-1/4 teaspoon salt
-1/2 cup butter
-3/4 cup brown sugar
-2 eggs (beaten)
-2 1/3 cups bananas (mashed)

1. Turn oven to 350°F and lightly grease a 9 x 5 inch loaf pan.
2. In a pot add the flour baking soda and salt.
3. In a separate pot make sure the butter is creamy. Then you mix the creamy butter and brown sugar together.
4. Make sure the eggs are well beaten and the mashed bananas are mashed how u want them to.
5. Mix the eggs and bananas together.
6. Mix steps 2-5 all together in a pot.
7. Put the mixture in the loaf pan and bake for 1 hr.

Ddeokbokki (~4 servings)

My friend Emily and I made ddeokbokki yesterday. This is a Korean dish that's probably served in every Korean restaurant. It was super spicy because Emily decided to double the recipe since we had 2 pounds of rice cakes. Even though it was super spicy it still tasted good. If it was less spicy it would have tasted better.
Here is the recipe we used:
Ingredients: -1 lb rice cake
-4 cups of water
-7 large dried anchovies (without head and intestines)
-6 x 8 in. dried kelp
-1/3 cup hot pepper paste
-1 teaspoon hot pepper flakes
-1 teaspoon sugar
-3 green onions (3 in long pieces)
-2 hard boiled eggs (shelled) {opt.}
-1/2 lb fish balls/ cakes {opt.}

1. Add water, dried anchovies and dried kelp in a shallow pan/pot.
2. Bring to a boil for 15 min. over medium heat (without lid).
3. Combine hot pepper paste, hot pepper flakes, and sugar in a small bowl.
4. Remove the anchovies and kelp from the pot and add the rice cake, mixture in the bowl, green onion, fish cakes and eggs.
5. Keep stirring until the rice cake turns soft and the sauce thickens/ looks shiny (7-10 mins.)
6. Remove from heat and serve hot.
